Body

Liposuction and Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, are two of the most common plastic surgeries performed on the body. We also offer other body procedures such as labiaplasty, arm, thigh, body and buttock lifts.

Lipoplasty

Liposuction, also referred to as Lipoplasty, is a procedure to remove the unwanted fat deposits from certain areas of the body. It can be performed on and men and women. Common sites for liposuction include the face, neck, arms, back, hips, thighs, buttocks, and even knee and ankle areas. Liposuction is best suited for patients who have tried weight reduction through good dietary habits and exercise and who continue to have localized fat deposits.

How is liposuction preformed?

Unwanted fat is removed through cannulas (hollow tubes) placed through tiny incisions. The cannulas are attached to a suction apparatus that removes the dislodged fat creating a strong vacuum.

The procedure can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia frequently with sedation. Tumescent liposuction involves the injection of a large amount of injection solution to facilitate removal of fat with less blood loss, less bruising, and a faster recovery.

After the operation, patients must wear a compression garment to accelerate the healing process and to minimize swelling (edema).

With continued diet and exercise, the fat loss should be permanent, however substantial weight gain could possibly alter these results. Please check with your surgeons for all of the benefits and risks of liposuction.

Our physicians can answer any questions you may have and offer free initial cosmetic consultations on some of the procedures. Give us a call at 402-596-4000 or send us an email at surgeryvp@unmc.edu. Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery will help you do something beautiful......for you.

Abdominoplasty

Commonly known as a tummy tuck, this a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The result will be a firmer, flatter abdomen that will complement your body type.

Please check with your surgeon for all of the benefits and risks of an abdominoplasty. They may also be able to submit this type of cosmetic surgery to your insurance carrier based on certain criteria.
